I vividly remember my first video game, I was 4 years old, and I got a Gameboy Advanced with Pokémon Fire Red for Christmas. I have no idea how many hours I had sunk into that game, but I remember that I was hooked almost immediately. The game didn’t have any Dutch language settings so I was forced to learn English on the fly, I can’t help but wonder how annoying I was asking for translations but slowly and surely, I got the hang of things. I’ve been playing games ever since and a wide variety of games as well, from Minecraft to Mario, Zelda to Destiny. I quickly developed a fondness of finding the intricacies of each type of game, and I found myself thinking of how I would combine games and mechanics. The satisfaction gained from learning and mastering a new game, or the wonder of a new world opening before you, a completely unexpected turn in either the story or the gameplay, or a unique implementation of interactions, that is what it’s all about! I can’t wait to share my own visions and worlds.
